The Power of Acceptance

Very often we find people around us complaining about various things in theirlives. Health challenges, financial difficulties, relationship problems and the list goes on. The only reason they do so is because they do not accept those particular problems or situations and all they do is just complain. Complaining is not going to do any good to the problem but, is only going to make things worse. The law here is simple, "like attracts like", if you are complaining, you are only going to get more of it.

Take a while and think hard. "Problems are only perceived in the mind", if you focus on the problem, you will just aggregate it, but if you focus on a solution to solve it, that is where you choose to be a fighter. Be a solution oriented-person.

But it all starts with one thing, Acceptance. You must first accept a particular situation or problem in your life, this will help you stay calm and get focused on what needs to be done next.
Yes, of course, we all have hard days from time to time, that is common for every one of us. What matters here is how each of us react to them. I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with a serious health problem (prefer not to disclose his name) of which no cure is availabe yet. As he analysed it, he realized what it had done to his life and it really started to worry him. He would complain, have self-pity and was often alone sobbing and trying to figure out things. But as the months passed by, he accepted his health problem (it wasn't easy) decided to move on with his life and face his challenges. He lives his everyday to it's fullest by doing the things that give him a feeling of greatness and make him happy. If you ever get the chance to meet him, you will not even get a single negative vibe from him. That is the power of acceptance. Yes, initially it is tough but as you set your mind deal with it, there is no looking back and as Richard Carlson rightly said, "Acceptance may sound like inaction, but when you try to practice it, you will see that it is anything but doing nothing. It sometimes requires more effort than the complaining, confronting or claiming up you would normally do. But...once you accept the freedom it brings, acceptance can become almost second nature."

Challenges, conflicts, confusion and uncertainty are vehicles that enhance our growth. Days will get better and seasons will always change. By accepting "what is", the bitter times will be shorter and the your awesome days will get longer.
